History

Route 35 has existed since the 1920s. Its routing has mostly remained the same except for a rerouting in Standish as described below, and one in Bethel in 2003 that saw 35 moved to a multiplex with Route 5.

Route 35A

Route 35A was a short loop following Cape Road and a short section of Route 25 in Standish. It was a former routing of Route 35 until the 1940s and decommissioned c. 2003.
