History The main road from Woodstock to Houlton, Maine; aptly named the Houlton Road, was known as Route 5 until 1976. In that year, a completely new alignment opened and was numbered 95 after the corresponding Interstate route in Maine. A small divided section opened in 1998 to bypass some further development around the end of the road in Woodstock. Guide Route 95 is a short, mostly controlled-access connector between the Trans-Canada Highway and Interstate 95 at the U.S. border near Houlton. Future Plans The entirety of Route 95 will be twinned by late 2007. There will be an interchange at Route 540, all other at-grade intersections will be closed. Junction/Exit List
