Route 96 (unsigned) 4.27 km 2.66 mi |
History St. Stephen Drive was constructed in 1991. Guide St. Stephen Drive is a two-lane controlled-access road connecting Route 3 on the outskirts of St. Stephen to Church Street in the Milltown neighbourhood. Its purpose is to funnel truck traffic from Route 1 away from the Ferry Point border crossing to Calais, Maine; accessed from downtown St. Stephen, and towards the smaller Milltown crossing. Although there is a fair amount of residential development along Church Street, it is small compared to the amount on King Street leading towards downtown. Future Plans St. Stephen Drive will become part of Route 1 once the new border crossing at Milltown opens. It is presently being twinned. Junction List
