History
The route around the Cape Breton Highlands was completed in 1932 and paved in the 1950s.
Guide
The Cabot Trail is one of the most celebrated scenic drives in North America. As the main route in the Cape Breton Highlands region, it ascends and descends several mountains and has dozens of scenic vistas, particularly around Cape Smokey, Pleasant Bay and the Cheticamp area.
