History
Route 203 was commissioned in the late
1970s when two existing roads, one going east from Carleton through
Kemptville, and one going north from Shelburne through the Ohio region,
were paved and connected to each other to serve forestry purposes. A
large mine opened near Flintstone Rock in 2002.
