NFL 2010 Week 6: FOX Early Game
…
Atlanta @ Philadelphia – Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa [HI]
Detroit @ NY Giants – Dick Stockton, Charles Davis
Seattle @ Chicago – Chris Myers, Brian Billick [AK]
New Orleans @ Tampa Bay – Sam Rosen, Tim Ryan
Areas in GREY will not get a game due to NFL rules.
UPDATES:
Birmingham, Wichita: ATL-PHI to NO-TB

@scarr….
If new Orleans @ tampa bay sold out only FOX would show a game…that tampa bay game.
since its not a sell out the home market is limited to 2 games
generally this will be:
1pm nondoubleheader network game
4:15pm the second game of the doubleheader network that is a usualy a spuedo national game
There are exceptions because the local affiliate could opt for games of interest locally like games with their divisional teams.
For example…they could
air the 1pm FOX Atlanta @ philadelphis (Atlanta in the same division)
air the 4pm CBS Jets @ Denver or they could air the 49ers game because they play them later this year (I dont recall if they host them…theyd do this to try and draw fans to the game by showing who a future oponent is)
Saints v Bucs still showing up on the KLRT Fox 16 guide in Little Rock and its also on my Directv listings. I thought that guide listeings are updated every Thursday, so if thats the case, I believe that we are getting that game here.
Zap2it shows NO/TB for KLRT as well so you should be all set for that game.
DJP, Thx again. I can see why the CBS affiliate in TB would want to show the Miami game in the spot opposite the TB blackout if league rules permitted it.
It’s nice to see the Saints will be shown in the San Antonio area.
Think the NY market needs to change to grey because the cable company is at a standoff with with the FOX tv station so its not being shown through cable.
@james: why ? the divisional game (eagles/falcons) will be a much better game and is more important to the region .
DJP:
Some of NYC will get Fox tomorrow. Customers in Cablevision zones could be blacked, but customers in Time Warner zones will have the games, as will broadcast/Verizon/satellite viewers.
@BMS….I know….it was more of a comment about the situation there….
Those things happen all over. Last year or the year before…in Buffalo the same sort of thing happened between Time Warner and the local CBS affiliate and it lasted for a couple of weeks.
During this period, the canadian network picks up a weekly game of NFL in canada. One of these “blacked out games” was picked up by CTV. The county where niagara falls is was able to show that broadcast because ratings said more than 5% of the population watch that station so FCC prohibit it being blacked out by cable…but in Bufffalo because the numbers were less than that 5% they could blackout the broadcast.
