No. They will get the early Fox game – Atlanta @ Philly.
Thank god I have NFL Sunday Ticket. One game for the entire country at 4 and it is between two 1-3 teams. Awesome.
If the Bucs game is BLACKED OUT here in Tampa, will we get different games (early/late) ?
Indication is STRONG that it will be blacked out…
The Bucs have pretty much conceded a blackout is going to happen, so the maps are assuming one. It will be a CBS game early (probably Dolphins-Packers) and a FOX game late (Cowboys-Vikings).

Apparetly ya all in AK & HI can’t read or don’t pay attn.Go surfing or climb a glacier cuz all your getting late is Dallas@Favre.NFL never expected both teams being 1-3 going into this “showdown”.Had the ticket last wk so it wasn’t that bad but this wk is horrible.Maybe it’s just a coincidence but when FOX has the DH I look for a marathon of something on History ch…anything actually.
I don’t care if this game has been hyped for months and I don’t care if it’s America’s team and Brett, the lead Fox team SHOUDN’T be placed in a battle of 1-3 teams. Give it to Kenny, Moose, and Goose, cause If Aikman does ATL-PHI, Buck could do double duty, cause the stadiums are right across the street.
Aikman’s now 6-for-6 on doing NFC East games.
I can’t believe they are really going to show another Dallas game. I think Fox is taking this to the limit. I hope they wise up and start showing something else besides of them in the afternoon slot everytime they have the double header.
Sorry but Dallas vs Minnesota will destroy all games in this week’s TV ratings. 1-3 or not both teams are capable of beating any team in the league. Let’s not act like it’s Browns vs Bills in a prime slot. Don’t the Chargers start like 2-5 every year and as I remember the Giants were 5-0 last year and finished 8-8.
Yeah, regardless of what their records are, Dallas – Minnesota is going to draw huge. And now it’s kind of like a matter of survival anyways, whoever loses will probably not make the playoffs, so there’s a lot of pressure for each team obviously because of the expectations.
Two 1-3 teams get this much coverage?
The map is assuming Tampa will not seel out so they will show the late doubleheader game….though…if nobody is interested in the battle of 1-3 teams then they could flip to an early FOX (Atlanta @ Philly) and late CBS game (Jets @ Denver.
Denver and San Francsico have the late AFC games the WILL be on exclusivly in their market so no FOX game on at 4:15.

The NFL set this schedule in april…including the 4:15 games for the first 10 weeks of the season. They had no idea what teams records would be.
Startiong week 11 the NBC game can be flexed, The networks can change games to 4:15 for their doubleheader games. the only games that are designated with a late start are the game hosted on the west coast and The Jets/Giants game if both play on sunday will play in opposite time slots (a couple of weeks late the jets game is at 4:15 against Miami and Pittsburgh)
there have been a few games the networks haver already decided to protect by shifting the start time to 4:15pm
some of these games are:
week 11: indy @ new england (CBS)
week 12: none declared yet (FOX)
week 13: Dallas @ indy (FOX)
week 14: none decided yet (CBS)
week 15: none decided jet (CBS)
week 16: none decided yet (FOX)
week 17: none decided yet (CBS & FOX)
Based on the schedule only week 16 as of now looks like a game would be flexed. the rest of the games should be safe games unless you happen to have an unexpected game of 2 surprise 8-3 teams.
If Fox were smart, they would have moved another game to 4:15 to share, or at least swapped this game for another-Oh, that’s right it’s the Dallas-Favre lovefest, they both could be 0-4 and still get shoved down our throats. At least I get a late CBS game to look at thankfully, I feel sorry for those who don’t. Thanks for the maps and info, you guys do a great job
People need to stop belly-aching about this scenario. So you hate the Cowboys and are sick of Favre. Join the club. But, this game has the all right stuff in terms of importance and interest level. The winner perhaps begins its road to recovery while the loser is in deep doo-doo.
Are both teams 1-3? Sure, but guys and gals, again it’s only been one quarter of the season. Besides, as an earlier poster intimated, it’s not like FOX is making the entire nation watch a late-season Bills/Lions game.
I agree that they are really killing us with Cowboys coverage, but if you were calling the shots at FOX you’d have drafted the same schedule. This game will be a ratings bonanza. Both the Vikes and Cowboys still have legit shots at being division winners.
You mean that here in Southern California, I have to watch the Cowboys again while two California teams battle it out? I am sick of Fox, and I am sick of the Cowboys!

The problem witth not seeing niners-raiders game….CBS has the rights at 4pm.
The schedulemkaers…the idiots they are decided to have an early San Diego road game which means LA and parts South are required to pick up the game.
I noticed this with the schedule when it was released and wondered what were they smoking
The Raiders-Niners, Cowboys-Texans, and Chiefs-Rams should have been featured games either on national TV…either at 4:15, on NFLN, ESPN, or NBC.
the schedule makers put these games on during nondoubleheader weekends on the network that has them.
The week the niners-Riaders were playing was a week when the Chargers should have had their bye or been on national TV…all of california would want to see that game.
Those are special rivalry games that only happen once every 4 years.
For certain next years Jets-Giants will be on national tv.
Here is the $64,000 question…if Dallas loses Sunday….the schedule the net 4 weeks are Giants, Jacksonville, @ green bay, @ Giants…so
they could easily be 2-7.
this means the philly @ dallas game would be a candidate for flexing on NBC.
Geez, talk about slim pickings for the 4 PM game, and that’s even if you have NFL Sunday ticket, Jets/Broncos, Oakland/SF, and Min/Dallas, yuck!!
if I were FOX, I would move Saints/Bucs to
4 PM, and make that the national game, the Bucs are 3-1, the Saints are sorta struggling at 3-2, this game has huge implications in the NFC South division!!
Fortunately, the GM at my local CBS Station in Wilmington, NC was smart enough to put on Ravens/Patriots at 1 PM.

I definetly agree with you. its all about money, as well as the ratings for those stations to select and air which game could catch their eye. Not everybody tends to like what their local fox and cbs station in each of their states, selects to air that day. but one way or the other, i guess we have to get over it.
I mean Im surprised 48 out of the 50 states will be tuning in this Sunday on FOX to watch part 2 of the Cowboys@Vikings double-header game, 2 teams that have already met and played each other back in January in the divisional round of the playoffs when the Vikings annihilated the cowboys 34-3

Regarding your point on next years Giants-Jets game it has never been on national TV to my knowledge, it has always been a 1 PM game it could be primetime next year but I wouldn’t bank on it. You are right that all of California sould’ve seen that battle of the Bay Area game but it just didn’t work out that way. I just hope that the NFL schedule makers don’t put a Patriots game on at the same time of the Giants-Jets game next year which would force me to a restaurant if I wanted to watch the game like it did in 2007.
This has nothing to do with hine site. Regardless of the two teams records, one Fox game for the entire country to watch? There should always be two. This game could be a blow out and if that happens, the majority will be changing the channel to CBS. Bad planning by Fox back when the schedule came out.
Can anyone throw out a theory why Knoxville, TN, is getting Houston-KC? I was hoping to get my beloved Browns locally here this week, and even Nashville is getting Cle-Pitt, but for some reason that game is going to be on here. It can’t be the AFC South, because then Nashville would get it too. Is Arian Foster that much of a pull?
next year the NY battle will be FOx rights game potentially so they will fight tooth and nail to keep the game on but if both teams make the playoffs the league will push for that to be on national TV….FOX got the game in 2003…CBS got it in 2007…this time NBC will get it…..
plus the league does want to open the NY market up to more games from elsewhere in the league.

Knoxville has the Houston-KC game for two reasons:
1. Houston is a rival of Tennessee which is why I think Nashville will switch to the Houston-KC game.
2. The RB for Houston Adrian Foster played at tennessee.
3. The starting safety for KC played at Tennessee last year (Berry) who was a 5th overall first round pick.
The league has rules on shifting starting times for games….they cant shift games at the last minute…for them to move games to 4:15 I think they have to do it within a 3 week window outside of a weather concern.
The NFL shifted games due to a hurricane or due to a nor’easter snow storm scheduled to hit Sunday night.
OK, so Raiders/Niners is on in the Bay Area because it’s a sellout. But if I understand correctly, if it had been Niners@Raiders and not a sellout it STILL would’ve been on TV there because SF would then be the road team?
That would mean a SF/Oak game would ALWAYS be on TV there even if there was only one ticket sold because the road team is in the same market. That makes less sense than any of the other blackout rules.
San Fran @ Oakland would sell out because san Fran fans would have gone to see the niners play in Oakland so this theoretical thing is pointless.
The Giants-Jets game would also be a sellout…this would not happen.

I don’t see any way that they could black out a non-sellout Raiders/Niners game. Aside from the league blacking out individual homes via Roger Goodell sending inspectors to each Bay Area domicile to find out what allegiance the tenants have. And that would be very Nineteen Eighty-Four!

Because Denver host the jets…its a sellout…home games are on exclusivly on TV …since this is on CBS…no game can air on FOX.

How long have these home rules been in place? By now everyone should know why you can’t see a game on another network if your team is playing at home at same time if you live in or near the Nfl city. Its so stupid to have to explain the rules week after week.

@Jeremey Just found this site. Was I just inherently supposed to know that? The Vikings almost never play the 2pm (MT) game, so they rarely conflict with Broncos games.
Of course FOX is going to show the Cowboys whenever they can……. They have the most fans nationwide, no matter what their record is!!!! This game has major implications no matter what the record is for each team. GREAT JOB FOX!!!!!!
All of you folks out there belly-aching about the Cowboys, try living in Dallas and having it forced down your throat every week. At least it’s a great year to hate them. My question concerns the late game running into the MLB NLCS game on Sunday: Will they delay the start of the MLB game if the NFL game runs long, or because we’re in Dallas, we’ll join the game already in progress and all non-Dallas/Vikings markets will switch to MLB at the start of the game?
Giants / Lions over Falcons / Eagles in Mass?? Or is that a gray area? What the hell!
