@Nick.formation
FOX would not have done that because the giants @ Packers was basically a playoff game. they only moved one game later for a second option in case it became so onesided that they could switch viewers since its a FOX doubleheader lead in.
also they wouldnt move washignton because that means DC/baltimore and Virginia would carry the Skins game and not the Giants game where they knew viewerrs on the I-95 corridor would have watched the Gainats game and wanted to see it.
@Carter Gorman
FOX and CBs cant protect games in week 17. This is NFL call.
They have alreday announced what games will move.
these will be the national games:
1pm ET
CBS Pittsburgh @ cleveland
FOX Tampa bay @ New Orleans
4:15pm
CBS Titans @ colts
FOX Bears @ Packers
Only the immediate/traditional markets will get the other games.
@Matthew
The only ones who i can see complainin THIS WEEK about not gettin to see denver are the people in gainesville, cause for the most part, all of them probably still want to see tebow play even though the game means nothin….the rest of the state, u cant seriously expect to see a hou/den game when there are games with actual meaning and playoff consequences going on…u are probably just goin to have to wait till next yr when tebows becomes the starter (they better trade or cut orton so he can start somewhere else but thats another story for another time) and u will probably be gettin every single den game unless u are in the bucs, jaguars, or dolphins markets….and u would probably still get a reasonable amount of them if u are in those markets…
I wish they would have moved the TAMPA BAY @ NEW ORLEANS game to 4:15 and left one of the others at 1 PM. REASON: I already know I’m going to get CAROLINA @ ATLANTA at 1 o’clock and it would have been fun to see TB @ NO right after that (division game interest on my part!). Can’t have everything I reckon . . . On another note: SILLY EXPANSION IDEA > Expand the NFL to Omaha, Nebraska and call the team the “OMAHA HARVESTERS” and put a wheat stalk on the helmet. Call it corny if you like . . .
@Carter Gorman
Had the giants beat the Packers…thus clinching a wild card spot for the Giants and eliminating the the Packers….they would have put Tampa Bay @ New Orleans at 4:15pm if the saints lose on Monday night because it wouldve made that game a playoff game for the wild card.
According to Wikipedia, Craig Bolerjack will be the eighth play-by-play man, teaming with Randy Cross; the two had teamed up for the Notre Dame-Navy and Ole Miss-Tennessee matchups on October 23 and November 13 respectively.
Chris: It will be Spero Dedes, not Craig Bolerjack.
Here are the CBS crews, for what it’s worth:
Pittsburgh @ Cleveland – Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts
Cincinnati @ Baltimore – Kevin Harlan, Solomon Wilcots
Buffalo @ NY Jets – Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker
Miami @ New England – Bill Macatee, Rich Gannon
Oakland @ Kansas City – Spero Dedes, Randy Cross
——————————
Tennessee @ Indianapolis – Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
Jacksonville @ Houston – Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf
San Diego @ Denver – Don Criqui, Steve Beuerlein
@admin When are the maps going to be announced?
@Bryan
Have to wait till tonights game is over to see what games matter. If Philly loses then they are in 3rd place.
I wonder if the league will shift Atlanta to later if the Eagles lose
The color maps should be up fairly soon; perhaps by tomorrow morning.
ALSO >>> It looks like I must eat some crow. I thought PHILLY would pound MIN into the turf. I was very wrong! Right now it’s 17-7 VIKINGS. No matter what happens from now until the end of the game I’m impressed by the fight the VIKINGS are putting up on defense. I sure as hell didn’t expect that after CHI made a hash out of the VIKES! I reckon that’s why they play the games . . .
DJP: No. Everything was finalized on Sunday schedule-wise.
Everyone else: Usually the networks have preliminary listings ready 13 days in advance, but because of all the schedule changes for week 17, the networks couldn’t start planning until yesterday and I didn’t have all the info I needed til just now. Maps will be up by the end of the night.
Maps are coming! COOL
I know the league announced the changes earlier…but the league is very concerned that the Bears will not play full speed against the Packers since they will know if they have something to play for with the Saints and Falcons done before they start.
I wonder if the league will send the Bears a warning on tanking the game.
Had this Eagles game happened on Sunday with the same results they would have scheduled
Tampa Bay @ new orleans
Giants @ Washington
Chicago @ Green Bay
Carolina @ Atlanta
all at the same time..likely 4:15pm.
I suspect the Bears have the right to rest some of their starters if they want to. The thing is there’s certainly no guarantee the Bears would beat the Packers even if they played all their starters. From what I gather Lovie Smith is so far insisting all the starters will play – BUT – how much will they play is the burning ?question?
