NFL 2010 Week 16: FOX Late Game
…
NY Giants @ Green Bay – Joe Buck, Troy Aikman [HI]
Seattle @ Tampa Bay – Thom Brennaman, Brian Billick [AK]
Areas in GREY will not receive a game, either due to a blackout or the local team playing at home on CBS.
…
UPDATES:
Sacramento; Boise: SEA-TB to NYG-GB
Fort Myers, Tallahassee: NYG-GB to SEA-TB

Still stuck watching Green Bay and New York.
@jenn5
part of that is because those teams have been good the past few years while seattle hasnt.
Just like with fans, many markets are fair weather markets where they follow a team when they are good but not much when they are bad.
In Montana that happens where they tend to go with either Seatle or Minnesota depending on which one is better.
Strange how most of Idaho regularly airs the Seahawks, but Boise initially seems to list their game but changes to another game on Thursday. Any explanation?
@Chris
Bise does carry the seahawks quite frequently but they opted to bolt because the Giants 2 Packers is so much more important witht the playoff pitcure. Win or lose seattle is still in it.
>>> I think it would really be interesting to know any FOX affiliates make a last-minute switch to Seattle @ Tampa Bay -IF- San Francisco beats the Rams. Hmm . . . it’s like those old MasterCard commercials. Master the possibilities.
Can’t zoom in on maps anymore it now opens a new page with a jpeg of map.
Why is Gainesville, FL stuck with watching games that have nothing to do with us again. Im tired of CBS games. We want to watch Dever with Tebow.
The Buccs game will be blacked out in Tampa as it has all year but why does it show us getting the 1pm game blacked out instead of the 4pm game when the Buccs actually play? I thought they would show Mia, Jax or the Jets at 1 and not given us a game at 4.
Same complaint in the Bay Area. We don’t get the Colts-Oakland game due to a blackout, but we don’t get the FOX late game because the local team is playing? That’s shitty.
According to nbcsports.com, St. Louis at Seattle, which will determine the NFC West champion, will be the Sunday Night Football game. On FOX, Cowboys-Eagles, Giants-Redskins, and Bears-Packers have been moved to the late slot as Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, and Green Bay have something to play for. That being said, here’s my prediction for commentator pairings for next week’s games:
Joe Buck/Troy Aikman: Dallas at Philadelphia
Kenny Albert/Daryl Johnston/Tony Siragusa: NY Giants at Washington
Dick Stockton/Charles Davis/Jim Mora Jr.: Chicago at Green Bay
Thom Brennaman/Brian Billick: Tampa Bay at New Orleans
Sam Rosen/Tim Ryan: Carolina at Atlanta
Ron Pitts/John Lynch: Minnesota at Detroit
Chris Rose/Kurt Warner: Arizona at San Francisco
@Jason
Since the Bucs were blacked out thus maing the market could only get 2 games the doubleheader network FOX made the call on which slot it would pick up a game…they chose the late 4:15 game so the CBs had to carry the 1pm game.
@Sonomalass
Similarly as I mentioned about since Raiders are balcked out the rules are…you can only get 2 games, 1 on each network(CBS or FOX) and one in each slot (1pm or 4pm). You have two teams in San Francisco/Oakland which complicated matters. Since the 49ers were playing at 1pm on FOX that means you were stuck with a 4pm CBS game.
@Chris
Buck/Aikmen will not be on a meaningless game….they will either be on the Bears-Packers or the Bucs-Saints.
# 2 will be on the either the other game or the Giants-Skins.
If CAROLINA @ ATLANTA gets the Sam Rosen/Tim Ryan pairing that will be 3 weeks in a row we’ve seen them in the ATL area. The Falcons at the Seahawks last week and then Washington @ Jacksonville this week. *I’m not complaining — I think Rosen and Ryan are as good a team as anyone FOX has; just an observation! When I lived in S. Florida in the Dolphins area you didn’t get many (if any) games in the regular season with Rosen and Ryan. We nearly always got the ‘National Game’ with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. > I didn’t think both late FOX games would end up being blowout. Was I wrong! A 28-point shellacking and a 23-point beating. The WASH/JAX was much more competitive. Can’t wait for the *new* maps later this week.
@DJP
Will the networks still follow the division rival rule for week 17? For example, im in the chicago area, do u think they will still show minn/det here on fox? Or will they do the logical thing and show the best early game? Bucs/Saints? Id think they would show bucs/saints since the division race is over and everythin but i just wanted to make sure….
@Thomas
I posted what I think on the index list….
In chicago you should see:
1pm ET
CBS Pittsburgh @ cleveland
FOX Tampa bay @ New Orleans
4:15pm
CBS Titans @ colts
FOX Bears @ Packers
All 4 of these games would be the national games because at least one team needs to win to get in the playoffs or win the division with a win.
though you may get stuck with the Vikings @ Lions at 1 pm on FOX.
They should see the Bucs @ saints game because either one of those teams could be who they face in their first playoff game.
If the bears lose to the Packers they could miss the bye and be the #3 seed and host #6 which could be the Bucs (if Saints lose to Falcons).
@Carter
these will be the national games:
1pm ET
CBS Pittsburgh @ cleveland
FOX Tampa bay @ New Orleans
4:15pm
CBS Titans @ colts
FOX Bears @ Packers
Only the immediate/traditional markets will get the other games.
Thanks for the updates, DJP. > I think I typed this on another thread, but I wish FOX (or the NFL — whoever does th picking for Week 17) had “flexed” TB @ NO to 4 o’clock and left one of those other games at 1 PM. I already know what game is going to be on where I live and it ain’t TB/NO! (Not that I’m complaining ‘cuz I like the Home Team, but it would have been fun to see the Bucs battle the Saints after watching CAR @ ATL. SOMETHING THAT’S BOUND TO CHANGE >>> I looked at the WAGA – Fox 5 Atlanta website about 10 minutes ago and they had ‘CARDINALS @ 49ers’ listed at 4:15 PM in next Sunday’s slot. I don’t know what game it’ll be changed to, but I’d be *shocked* if FOX 5 stayed with ARZ @ SF. They probably had that game listed before the NFL did it’s “flexing”! We shall see . . .
@Carter gorman
Had the Gaints won then they would have the Bucs @ Saints at 4:15 if the saints lost on Monday night.
Now the bucs-Saints game could be meaningless if they had the other games happening earlier.
the needed to Have the Giants, Packers, and Eagles play at the same time for competative reasons.
If the eagles win tonight then the eagles and Bears are fighting for the bye by finishing as a #2 seed. Had the Eagles played earlier and lost before the Bears-Packers game then the Bears would have sat their players thus making it easier for the Packers to get a wild card.
ALL THE LOCAL Afilliates had the cards @ 49ers because that was the only 4:15 game scheduled on FOX for 4:15 because it was the only game out west…. the NFL didnt release the schedule changes until late last night.
Now I see why the BUCS/SAINTS game is being played at 1 o’clock. ALSO — I noted your Post on the ‘Index’ about the various games and the locations where they are likely to be aired (and who’s going to be “blacked out”).
will I get to watch bucs in new york on fox 5?..Jets will be on also so will I?
Hey, ‘bucs11′, I think the 1 o’clock FOX game will be blacked out in NYC. You might have to go to a sports bar to see TB @ NO.
> As a point of reference I live in the ATLANTA area and there won’t be a CBS game on a 1 PM because the Falcons are playing at home.
bucs11,
The New York Jets are at home sold out early on CBS, so by rule, FOX 5 can’t air an early game. Here’s a list of the markets NOT getting a game in each time slot:
Early CBS: Atlanta, Detroit, New Orleans
Late CBS: Green Bay, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington
Early FOX: Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland, Kansas City, New York
Late FOX: Denver, Houston, Indianapolis
