That is standard protocol with games on TV.
If its a blowout either at half time or midway through the third the networks can and do switch viewers to more competative games. They can not switch primary and secondary markets. tetiary markets who regulalrly carry the teams involved like Reno does with the Raiders or 49ers….may switch but they may stick with the game.
all other viewers switch to a more competative and meaningful game. Since the Chiefs had something to play for they switched to that game.
and since they were already guaranteed a hm gm no matter the outcome the OL totally quit on Cassell and nearly got him killed.That’s the best argument for changing to best records get hm games I don’t care what sorry-ass division you win.
