@Adam C
I think Glendive is a satelite station of billings or bismark that shows whatever they show.
some stations are like that..especially rural/remote stations where if they have anything of there own its a local news station. For example some of the stations in Durango are fed by Albuquerque, but they do have their own local news station and staff.
Is it possible Billings and Rapid City air the Broncos–sure—they usually carry them during the season—but this game is utterly meaningless so I dont think they will air the denver game.
What I think the Admin should do is look at historical data nad make a map of market tendancy in who they likely will carry…if a mrket is split then stripe it with the two different colors…or leave it grey. One map for the AFC teams and another for the NFC teams.
>>> I just went to the WINK (Fort Myers, FL) website and took a look-see. I found their Tv schedule and have MIAMI @ NEW ENGLAND listed at 1 PM (as you would expect), but at 4:15 they have ‘TENNESSEE @ INDIANAPOLIS’ instead of ‘JAX @ HOU’. *** Time to add a RED BLOTCH to the West Coast of Florida.

I reckon it’s not surprising there’s so much jockeying around among CBS and FOX affiliates as to what games they’re going to show. > There’s so many parts of the country that aren’t affected by NFL rules regarding the broadcast of home team games, road team games, games shown in secondary markets, et cetera there’s sure to be a lot of last-minute game-switching!
@DJP:
Many thanks for the warning re: next season’s upcoming NFC East+Fox love-fest. I’m thinking I might seriously curtail my NFL watching habits….
DJP: I’ve been meaning to make a map like that for a few years. Might take a couple weeks to compile all the data, but it is a very good idea.
I’ll keep my eyes peeled for more color maps. Fun!
Let’s face it: CBS would air P. Manning vs. Anybody even if it were a meaningless game. Titans-Colts is gonna be a snoozer….
That’s one of the reasons I’ve been sick of the COLTS for a while now. I didn’t even watch the Super Bowl last year. I don’t like the EVIL SAINTS (for obvious reasons) or the INDIANAPOLIS BLOOD CLOTS. ’nuff said.
Update:
AFC Playoffs look like this IF Colts win AFC South:
1) Patriots
2) Steelers
Wild Card Round:
6) NY Jets @ 3) Colts
5) Ravens @ 4) Chiefs
AFC Playoffs IF Jaguars win AFC South:
1) Patriots
2) Steelers
Wild Card round:
6) NY Jets @ 3) Chiefs
5) Ravens @ 4) Jaguars
@Carter Gorman
Not watchin the Super Bowl?! Cause of the teams?! Thats RIDICULOUS! I dont care WHO’S playin!
If I’m not mistaken, do some markets
get two games on both networks?
David: Most of them do. Only ones that don’t are the ones with local home games.
Hey, ‘Thomas’ >>> I’ve got to have a team to root for in the Super Bowl. If I don’t have a team to pull for I get angry and won’t watch. Last year I wanted both teams to lose and since that’s not possible I didn’t turn it on.
Me too–absolutely sick of watching the Colts (I ain’t going to watch Saturday’s Jets-Colts game) because I can’t take any more of P. Manning and all the gushing that comes along with him (note to TV announcers: please stop kissing his backside). That Indy offensive line is stellar, yet all we ever hear about is “Payton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.” He’s the best-known player in the NFL (because he will advertise any product whatsoever), not necessarily the best player. New England, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Baltimore, and New Orleans all had superior seasons, yet were televised less than Indy here in Utah, which makes no sense. That is, unless you’re a network executive who has no clue and thinks fans want to watch meaningless Dallas & Favre games late in to the season.
