NFL 2010 Week 2: CBS Early Game
Miami @ Minnesota - Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf [AK, HI]
Pittsburgh @ Tennessee - Kevin Harlan, Solomon Wilcots
Buffalo @ Green Bay - Spero Dedes, Randy Cross
Baltimore @ Cincinnati - Bill Macatee, Rich Gannon
Kansas City @ Cleveland - Don Criqui, Steve Beuerlein
Areas in GREY have no game due to NFL rules.
UPDATES:
Eugene, OR: MIA-MIN to PIT-TN
LOL at southwest Louisiana getting the Browns/Chiefs game because of Delhomme.
Andrew Z says: Why is Chambersburg, and south central PA in general, in the Baltimore zone? For every 1 Baltimore fan there are easily 200 Steeler Fans and 50 Redskin fans. Are these areas just randomly picked or is some study completed first. Complete garbage every year. Would have loved to stay with Comcast, but due to this mockery of a system needed the Sunday ticket. The local CBS affiliate actually scrolls an apology during the game saying they are showing the game due to restraints. Isn’t that hint enough that we are in the wrong zone?
I say: This draws many hateful comments from people in South Central PA but the restraints are that the Harrisburg DMA is a secondary market to the Ravens… which means that it MUST show ALL Ravens road games, even if the Steelers are on at the same time. When the Ravens are at home and the Steelers are on at the same time, 9 times out of 10 Harriburg goes with the Steelers instead.
just a heads up that these providers have a free preview of the overpriced NFL Redzone on Sunday from 1-6ET: Dish Network, Insight Communications, Verizon FIOS

I live in the gray area in MI. Why do we not get the vikes game when the lions play the late game?
@ Raider Rat
if Oakland is sold out…then that is their FOX game because they can only get one CBS game because the raiders are home and FOX has the rights.
Oakland sellout…Raigers on at 4pm
early CBS game..either Pit @ tenn or Buff @ GB
If Oakland is not a seel out then it will stick with the eraly FOx and late CBS games.
though it could switch as I suggested and take the late FOX game of Seattle @ Denver because they play Seattle (long history) this season…and Denver in their division plus more highlight cut ins to Oakland fans of what happens at the game.
@ govikes…
If Detroit is a sell out and the game against Philadelphia is on at 1pm on FOX which means only 1 CBS game at 4pm.
@JAR…
I get NFL redzone through my digital cable where I just pay a flat fee for it as well as the other sports channels (NFLN, NHLN, NBAN, Tennis network, and others).
If they offered the NFL package through cable I would get that…think it violates competative rules with that exclusivity. The NFL is missing out on geting alot more money from viewers if they offered that (though the bars would lose out on money)
Thank you DJP
I live in south Webster Ohio zip code 45682 will I get to watch my cincy Bengals and I have directv.
The Steelers-Browns rules for WKBN (Youngstown, OH) are terrible. The viewing area is basically split 50/50 between the two groups, so there’s no way to make both sets of fans happy if the two teams are playing at the same time.
Why Mia-MN for most of the country? The Titans-Steelers game has more fans across the nation. We want TN-PITT game in the SF Bay Area.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Austin TX flip their game from MIA-MIN to PIT-TEN. Vince Young still has a big following in Austin and there are several other ex-Longhorns on both teams.
Sure does suck being a Ravens fan in Michigan. I need to get DirecTV.
PLay the bengals game in ILlinois, or at least champaign il
Bengalsfan
Are you close to Columbus, Ohio? If so, WBNS 10 is showing the Bengals game @ 1:00.
Awesome map! But why must Southeat Missouri get stuck with the Titans, why cant we have the Chiefs aired like the good’ole days!
No I live beside the portsmouth area in Ohio at the bottom of ohio and my locals are cbs and fox,nbc
45682….it depends on what network TV you receive. If DIRECTtv thinks you are in the cincinnati metro area and get regular cincinnati stations then you cant see the game. If you live in a neighboring market then blackout rules apply potential to that market (possibly Dayton).
Your location says you are in the Columbus TV market so you should se the game…but if you are in the Huntindton, WV TV market then you will see Pittsburgh-Tennessee.
i live hre in AZ,the Dolphins @ MN is a better match-up thts wh almost everyone gets it.
jst wondering some parts of North Cal.gets a bad game or no game at all?jsat post if u know it thnks.
Bill1010- Cape Girardeau is in a no win situation IMO due to their large geographic area that covers four states. The Tennessee and Kentucky portion of their audience is heavy Titans territory.
Argh! Here in Houston we get Pit-Ten. Why?!? The Miami/Min game is more compelling w/ Favre against Nolan’s defense. Time to go to a bar to watch it.

What’s your advice for getting the regional coverage changed? I’m a Titan fan in Austin, TX. A little shocked that the game won’t be televised here considering we generally get Titans games on off-Texans weekends due to the Vince Young ties.

Ricky Williams played for Texas and won a Heisman, does that count?
@big7 in AZ
The reason San Fran/Oakland gets no game is because of blackout rules…Them and San diego can only air 2 games…one at 1pm and the other at 4pm. San Fran/Oakland and san diego opting for the 4pm late game on CBS and the 1pm game on FOX.
The reason Chico/Redding is taking the Buffalo @ Green Bay game is because of Aaron rodgers…his home twon is Chico and he played college at CAL. Due to the schedule they view this as one of the ONLY times the CBS affiliate can air the Chico, CA native QB.
the Chico/Redding know they will get more viewers for this game then for the others which means more ratings and more ad revenue.
The other time CBS has Green Bay will occur on the same weekend the cross bay rivalry game occurs. Since that is on CBS they will air that game.
I live in Connecticut. Why Minnesota/Miami?? Why?? Pitt/Ten is a far more interesting game. So sick of Favre.

SO I’m stuck watching the Rats even though I live in PA. Here’s a news flash to the NFL and Harrisburg, South central PA wants the Steeler games, not the Baltimore market. Sick of it.
Funny that a Harrisburg radio station airs all Pittsburgh games. Wonder why that is? Guess they got the memo.
@Sean. Because its a nationally televised game on cbs. Whenever the minnesota vikings play at home to an AFC team, 40 states watch it
The hell with Jim Nantz and Greg Gumbel. They bore me when they commentate
@1bdlmn
Its NFL broadcasting rules…….ones that cover territory within 75 miles of an NFL team is considered a seconday market (provided they dont have a team themselves).
@ 1bdlmn
Harrisburg, PA is a Ravens secondary market, which means it must show all Ravens road games to their completion.
I get to watch the Phins even in Mississippi!
NFL rules SUCK and so do their “marketing” areas. Who gives a Sh*t what the Execs at the NFL offices opinions are about who should be able to see what game and when. Take a poll and let the fans speak for themselves. Hell watching the Philly game last week and when the game wasn’t over 10 minutes after the starting time of the second game, they cut away and said “Due to the NFL rules, we need to send you to the next game.” What BS is that.
At least I get to see my Steelers this week! That is certainly a bright spot in my day!
this site is incorrect – in Richmond they are showing the vikings/miami game – where’s the steerlers??
Steelerqueen
The Green Bay @ Philly game last week was a 4:15 Eastern start.
I never have a problem not knowing which game I’ll see on CBS. My local CBS station, WHIO-TV, is the second dairy market to the Bengals. So unless the Bengals black out or play a night game, I will see the Bengals every week. When they are on FOX, same thing.
