NFL 2010 Week 2: CBS Late Game
New England @ NY Jets – Jim Nantz, Phil Simms [AK, HI]

@Shiner Bock, well, during the Texans tenure (or at least the last 3 or 4 years I’ve been keeping it up with the506.com), the Texans are almost always avoided in the Metroplex even when they are eligible to be shown. Other than what I offered, I don’t know. If someone has the answer, please post. You are correct – we get most of the Cowboy games in Houston. Another market the Texans have trouble with is Austin – they’re still VY/Titans crazy over there…

I know Bills-Packer game is early and the Pats-Jets is late.
The Chico/Redding is not subject to the blackout rules that cover Oakland with limiting doubleheader broafcasts.
So Chico-Radding can show both CBS games….
Oakland/San Francisco can only show 2 games because Oakland plays at home and it is not a sellout. If its a sell out…because it is a FOX game they will still be stuck with 2…only if the home game is on the same network with the double header will 2 games broadcast on that network.
So the issue is what games do they broadcast??
Give this seasons schedule there may be more interest in Seattle @ Denver than the Pats @ Jets game for 4pm….if they go with the Seattle @ Denver game on Fox then they take an early CBS game (possibly San diego game). If they choose the later 4pm game on CBS then they air a 1pm game on Fox (Chicago @ Dallas)

The bay area and new york city only are restricted to air a 1pm and a 4pm which is why you NEVER see the teams playing in the same slot on the schedule. They may bring in a thrid game if both teams are on the road or if the home team also is on the double header network that week.
Witchita is covering the Kansas City game because Kansas city is close to them…they only can air 1 FOX game…the FOX network is likely thinking we would have no viewers for the 1pm FOX gameso ad revenue will suck. If we take the 4pm game on FOX we will get more viewers and more money for commercials.
Miamia @ Minnesota is the national game because its one of 2 showings of Favre on CBS (the other in December when Buffalo visits Minnesota–which could be flexed to NBC then). Favre is a big draw so its the national gem.
CBS is probably pissed that Pittsburg @ NEw Orleans is on NBC (other game is Cleveland @ New Orleans that CBS has) so because of that they were likely assured they would get indy-new england game and another marquee interconference game this season like Miami @ Minnesota.

So far. I won’t be shocked if it changes before gametime. I know the situation there cause I get to read about it on most Texan message boards. But I’d really be interested in what’s going on up there in Dallas…. It made sense when the Texans were “struggling” but they aren’t struggling any more… Many of us think JJ is the problem… I would like to hear different.

BS that the SD-Jax game will not be showed in SD. BS that instead we’ll be watching the East coast football. Why the hell not the hawks-broncos. I don’t live on the east coast, I live on the west coast, so play west coast games!
Pretty slim pickings where I live in Florida. Don’t get the Jaguars game (live just outside of their area) so I get two northern teams instead of a Florida team.

The San Diego game is blacked out. Which means they can only show 2 games ..one on each network and one in each slot.
I am referring to early game as to what game the CBS affiliate will air since they cant show san Diego.

they may opt for the later because the Chargers play Seattle next week and Denver is in their division. They play Tennessee later this year at home.

Seattle @ Denver is on FOX. If it was Denver @ Seattle, which it is not, then CBS would show this game.
Long story short, if an NFC team visits an AFC team, FOX will air the game. If an AFC team visits an NFC team, then CBS has the game. Hope this clears things up.
@DJP My parade can’t be rained on, its like this I either get to enjoy the Pats Jets game at home on my 46 inch Sony Bravia HD TV or I have to go to the sports bar down the street. From the looks of things I will be enjoying the game in the comfort of my own home. I got the confirmation from my cable provider and also found the scheduled game ahead of time and set the reminder. Chico-Redding Broadcast from 10:00 am-1:00pm Bills V Packers and from 1:15pm-4:00pm Pats V Jets. The Pats Jets game is a high demand divisonal matchup. I highly doubt that the broadcast would swap the Pats Jets in this county and other red broadcasted national areas to put the Seahawks and Broncos on. TV networks go for ratings and allot more people around the county would much rather see a divisonal rilvary rather then seeing 2 up and coming rebuilding teams play.
Great! I happen to be traveling to the 5% of the country that isn’t getting the Patriots Jets Game! And I’m not even going to be in Texas or Washington! Why would anyone outside those 2 cities want to see that friggin game? Do me a favor CBS- Take the Texans/Redskins game and shove it up your azz! People’s whose family member’s are playing in that game will be watching the Patriots Jets game! Talk about an epic failure!
I’m very happy the Chargers didn’t sell out. Now, L.A. will get the Pats v. Jets.
Unique situation for me I am actually getting 2 different CBS broadcasted games. Right now one channel its the Packers and Bills and on the other its the Vikings and Dolphins. My fiance who is from the northern Cal area said they usually get around 10 Pats Broadcast games a year. I think I am getting Sacramentos Broadcast along with the Chico-Redding Broadcast.
I think it sucks that they showing Jags n Charges game in Central Florida. No one here cares about that game. RATINGS WILL DROP FOR THAT GAME. CBS
FYI – CBS late game is showing NE @ Jets on KGWN Ch 5.1 which the map shows greyed out = no telecast
since the week-3 nfl maps isnt distributed or anywhere close to bein posted for september 26th…. Im just curious if Iowa receives the late game or the early game on CBS.

Yes, Jerry Jones does not want a Texans fan base developing the DFW area. He has been blocking them for a good while now. All the more reason to hate the Cowboys.
Why doesnt CBS Chicago show a noon NFL game
Such as the Packers Dolphins game Sunday.
