NFL 2010 Week 3: CBS Early Game
Tennessee @ NY Giants – Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf [AK, HI]
Buffalo @ New England – Kevin Harlan, Solomon Wilcots
Pittsburgh @ Tampa Bay – Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker
Cincinnati @ Carolina – Bill Macatee, Rich Gannon
Cleveland @ Baltimore – Don Criqui, Steve Beuerlein
Areas in GREY have no game due to NFL rules.
why when the steelers are playing a nfc team on opening day the game is on fox but in week 3 it’s on cbs????
Also no one in the area if asked whether to watch the bills game or the steelers bucs game i guarantee they would rather watch two 2-0 as appossed to new england 1-1 and buffalo 0-2 horrible cbs horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Steelers game in week 1 was on FOX because the away team (Falcons) was an NFC team. FOX owns the rights to games where the NFC team is the away team. Likewise, the Steelers (AFC) are away in week 3, and those games are broadcast on CBS.
All I hope is they switch at some point when a gm get’s ridiculous.FOX seems to do a better job of this than CBS.Are their stead-fast rules on when affiliates start pullin the plug on 1 for another better gm?
The map is wrong for Eugene, OR. The CBS affiliate KVAL is showing the Steelers-Bucs game, not the Giants-Titans as indicated on the map.
Very helpful. thank you for posting
I have been watching NFL football for nearly 40 years and have to say that today’s Patriots-Bills CBS TV production/announcing crew of Harlan – Wolcots may have been among the singularly worst performance I have ever seen/heard. Harlan – Wilcot decided to provide a three hour one on one conversation unrelated to the play in front of them, get a sports talk show if all you want to do is talk about sports vs report on the game. Announcers seemed to mostly ignore the yards, downs and distance. Oh! and when they did remember yards and distance they did not report what the monitor was stating in text. And don’t expect any any explanation or video of infrequently called flags like the interference call on #85 Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandes no info.
On a scale of 1 – 10 with 10 tops this was a
a 1 performance by CBS sports and I’m a patriot fan and we won!
The visiting team determines the network the game is shown. Therefore when Atlanta (NFC) played in Pittsburgh, Fox gets the game. When Pittsburgh (AFC) travels to Tampa CBS televises the game.
If the home team’s network dictated which network would air the game, CBS would never have access to the NFC stadiums and Fox could never broadcast from an AFC field.
This way, for example, CBS may air two Minnesota games (like the one against Miami) per season. Fox can show two New England contests this year.
