This has to be one of the weakest late game doubleheaders I can remember. Did the NFL think Denver was going to be good or something? Or that Tebow would be starting??
http://thebubblescreen.blogspot.com
im assuming its because of the colts being the afc champions and having peyton manning. cant wait to watch this game, im good friends with josh mcdaniels but im rooting for my colts!
How can DC show the late game when the Redskins are playing?
Redskins are on the road. It’s only when they are at home that a game cannot be shown at the same time.
Arghhhh it’s painful being a Bronco fan in Southern California…
@Sean
Denver vs Indy is a better game than those other two. Last year Denver came close to beating them.
Why is a part of Raleigh,NC being shown San Diego and Seattle?
YEAH AND ITS EVEN MORE PAINFUL BEING A RAIDER FAN IN LOS ANGELES KEV WHEN IT SHOULDN’T BE. I HOPE THE NFL LOOKS AT THE COMMENTS HERE BECAUSE THIS IS B.S. I LIVE IN L.A. AND HAVE FOR A LONG TIME I DON’T KNOW 1 CHARGER FAN. ITS EVEN MORE MIND BOGGLING TO ME THAT THEY’RE PLAYING THE CHARGERS AND NOT THE RAIDERS IN BAKERSFIELD WHICH IS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.
NOBODY WANTS TO WATCH THE CHARGERS IN CALIFORNIA EXCEPT FOLKS THAT LIVE IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY!!!!
I agree as it looks like CBS has found a way to screw Raider fans in LA again! Heck I would even prefer Colts @ Broncos over the Chargers game.
“Why is a part of Raleigh,NC being shown San Diego and Seattle?”
–Lots of folks in the area have adopted the Chargers via the Philip Rivers-NC State connection
Ok, let’s be honest, Oak-AZ isn’t interesting to anyone who is not a fan of the two teams. And sorry LA fans of the Raiders, but if there had been more of you they would still be the LA Raiders.
As for Ind-Den vs. SD-Seat, I’d probably opt (slightly) for the latter, but I can see the appeal of Ind-Den. Indianapolis is always fun to watch, and face it, with Peyton at the back half of his career but still at his peak most true football fans will try to get as many viewing in as they can. The fact that Denver’s D is extremely porous, yet they have a better-than-average O means that should keep the interest going until the 3rd qtr or so. SD is up-and-down, and Seattle is unpredictable (and not any sort of a national draw yet) so I understand why they aren’t the choice.
Its very painful being a Bronco fan in the Jacksonville (tv) market… a Black out because Jville cant sell enough tix Really?… at least they did when we were last week
Can anyone give me a rational reason why a small portion of NC gets Seattle/SD as the late game on CBS, while almost everyone else gets Indy/Denver? Does this make any sense at all? I don’t care that much, (though Indy-Denver is the better game) but would like to know the rationale….
@ Jordin
Where did Philip Rivers…the San Diego QB play college ball….if you think long and hard…he played in the Raleigh market for NC State.
Seattle’s Pete Caroll is also an atraction as well.
@DeezNuts
Where did the Seahawks coach come from?????
BTW San Digo is the closest football team so they will show some of their games.
@Dan
It is a black out in jacksonville because of NFL TV rules
Since Philadelphia @ JAcksonville and it is a sell out that agame is the only game on and it is on FOX.
Thus Jacksonville will only get 2 games. An early CBS and the late FOX game.
When are the programers at CBS (and FOX for that matter) going to realize that Hawaii and Alaska want to see Seahawks games! The keep giving us East Coast or MidWest games. Hello, wake up programmers . . . give us the games we want to see for a change. This has been going on for years – its time to fix this broadcasting injustice. Please . . .
Some ask why such cruddy games for a doubleheader.
Part of the scheduling for the late games is to put more games that are west coast based on doubleheader weekends as opposed to token fill for the non-doubleheader network.
In this season it happens the two west divisons are playing each other. So on double header weekends they will fill it with more late games (which would involve western cities hosting)
If you look at future schedule weeks you will see on many weeks you have west coast cities hosting games on doubleheaders with some of these being interconference games.
The other late games are going to be the high profile marquee games. If you noticed with the schedule some of the networks have shafted games to the 4:15 slot which would imply these are their protected game for that week.
I wish they would take the San Diego game all the way to the coast of NC, instead of only RDU area!
@Trey…call your affiliate station and complain.
Why the NFL or Fox thinks the Northeast gives a damn about the Cowboys is beyond me. Atlanta and the defending Super Bowl champ Saints is a much more interesting match up.
Wow, Jerry Jones is actually allowing the Texans to be shown in his market this week!
Oh wait, they are playing his team.
Seahwks Fan, speak for yourself. I’d rather watch the Colts play any day! Ironically, I am in California this week and it’s about the only place I can’t see them play…I need find a place with Sunday Ticket!
Why on earth does 90% of the US get to see Indy/Denver, and I happen to be in the ONE SPOT in a sea of red that doesn’t get the game? I am at Fort Bragg, NC.
If someone could explain to me how that ends up happening, I would appreciate it. Who wants to watch SD beat up on Seattle except for Bolts fans?
why is St.louis in the grey? the only city in grey
Why they don’t show the Chargers or Oakland games in the Las Vegas area is beyond me? Do the networks not realize how many people from California live in the Vegas area???????
The fans end up in bars and restaurants to see the games, because they can’t see them at home.
Ian, is Fort Bragg near Raleigh? Raleigh loves Philip Rivers, San Diego’s quarterback.
Brad, the Rams are playing at home on Fox. CBS isn’t allowed to compete so the city’s in grey.
Ginger, Las Vegas is a city of transplants. I don’t think of the city having a “home” team. The affiliate must be judging ratings to decide the games it broadcasts.
In Colorado and Nebraska, why was the Viking/Lion game swithed with the 49ers/Chiefs? Not Cool.
I think the Rivers fanbase is overstated. Fort Bragg is home to about 50,000 troops, most of who love football. Showing the best games in every timeslot should be the goal. Plus, isn’t this Panthers territory?
I live here and it may be a city of transplants, but I see lots of those transplants in bars to see the Raiders or the Chargers. I think the local channels are missing out of an audience.
